National Technical Sales Consultant - Decking

​

Branch Manager - Rustenburg

 

An opportunity exists at GRS – Isando for a National Technical Sales Consultant

in Decking with the following requirements:

 

Main purpose of the job

 

Purpose of National Technical Sales Consultant is to promote and sell Global Roofing Solutions world
class products, specifically Decking with service and skill within the competitive marketplace. Meeting set
sales targets and maintain and grow the Company’s customer base and market share.

Minimum required Qualifications and Experience required
  • Matric/Grade 12

  • Qualification in Civil / Structural Engineering highly advantageous

  • Experience in Concrete Civil / Structural Industry highly advantageous

  • Relevant Sales/Technical Engineering Diploma/ Degree will be advantageous

  • Valid Driver’s License is essential

  • Sound Knowledge of the South African Roofing Industry

  • Sound Knowledge of Permanent Form Work and Concrete Systems

  • Minimum 3 years’ Sales Rep/ Technical Sales experience is essential

  • Awareness and attentiveness to Company Image and branding

  • Knowledge / ability to interpret and read architectural and structural drawings will be essential

  • Experience in draughting relating to Structural Steel Industry will be advantageous

Technical Competence
  • Good understanding of Form Work, Concrete Systems

  • Budgeting and Planning

  • Strong computer skills- Microsoft Word, excel, email, internet and Syspro (advantageous)

  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication

  • Be able to manage projects

Behavioural Competence
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate with all customers

  • Ability to negotiate and communicate with industry professionals ie. Engineers, Architects, Contractors – Main and subcontractors, Structural / Civil Engineers, Architects, Specifiers and Quantity Surveyors

  • Liaise effectively with Colleagues and Management

  • Ability to work independently

  • Selling and Persuasion Skills and Customer Centricity

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Deadline driven

  • Ability to do extensive travelling (nationally)

Responsibilities and Key Performance Areas
  • Ensure increased customer awareness and maintain/increase market share

  • Ensure optimal growth by providing excellent customer service

  • Meet and Improve Annual Budgets – inherent requirement

  • Client queries are responded to timeously

  • Ensure excellent customer service to all clients

  • Marketing & Calling on targeted professionals (Main and Subcontractors, Structural / Civil Engineers, Architects, Specifiers, Quantity Surveyors) and customers daily / weekly / monthly

  • Marketing of decking product to professionals into projects growing market share and ensure futuresales

  • Reporting on targeted professionals and customers’ requirements weekly to manager

  • Provide targeted professionals with updated material, technical info, brochures, samples

  • Tenders / Quotations pricing

  • Assist with walk in customer sales

  • Knowledge of material availability

  • Knowledge of prices in the market place

  • Promote Global Roofing Solutions products at all times

  • Liaise with Customer on progress of orders when required.

  • Liaise with Administrator & Expeditor on changes to customers’ requirements

  • Manage projects together with progress and customers’ requirements

  • Weekly Call Reports

  • Monthly Planning

  • Monthly Material Forecast (3 months forward)

  • General Own Admin and Filing

  • Maintain and grow customer data base

  • Maintain customer price lists

  • Assist Administrator with customers cutting lists / drawing office requests

  • Assist Administrator with credit applications and rep reports for the debtors department

  • Assist debtor department with cheque collection and deposits

  • Assist debtor department with Account enquiries

  • Assist Administrator with Customer complaints, requirements, progress

  • Decking inspections when needed

  • Resolve of customer complaints speedily

  • Ensure customer is furnished with relevant technical info and installation of products

  • Manage project on site ensuring material being installed correctly first time round

  • Assist with additional tasks as requested by management from time to time

  • Overtime required from time to time

  • Assist with answering of incoming telephone calls

  • Participate in Stock take

  • Uphold the company’s code of ethics

Remuneration

Market Related, commensurate with the Company policy
