The GRS Year-End Awards Evening 2024!

What a spectacular night it was at the GRS Year-End Awards Evening—a perfect blend of strategy, celebration, and a whole lot of fun! Hosted in an intimate setting, this special event was all about recognizing excellence and having a laugh with our incredible GRS team.

The highlight? The much-anticipated announcement of the GRS Branch of the Year for 2024! A custom-designed floating trophy, crafted by the talented Rob Ellis from Metalgraphics using GRS products, was unveiled. This stunning piece will now carry the legacy of the winning branches for years to come.

🏆 Branch of the Year Results:

🥇 1st Place: Bloemfontein Branch

🥈 2nd Place: Polokwane Branch

🥉 3rd Place: Nelspruit Branch

These branches stood out based on their stellar performance, excelling in budget achievements, cost control, and EBITDA levels. A massive congratulations to all teams for their hard work and dedication!

But the fun didn’t stop there—our talented and innovative CEO, Gert Dercksen, worked his magic in creating some extra-special trophies for the evening’s fun awards.

Here’s a rundown of the Fun Awards & Winners:

Joker of the Year & Sh*t Stirrer:

Leon Bothma from Polokwane! Known as the “Donald Trump of GRS,” Leon practically swept the awards with his humor and... stirring skills!

Momentum Maker of the Year:

Daniel Venter! In a neck-and-neck race, Daniel edged out Mike and Wernher by just one point, earning this award for always stepping up and making things happen.

Master Checker Award:

Pieter Jonck, as decided by EXCO! Pieter’s dedication to double- (and triple-) checking everything made him the obvious choice for this honor.

Master of Red Tape Award:

Mike Lithgow, also selected by EXCO, for his ability to expertly navigate (and survive!) the endless red tape that comes with the job.

The evening was a true celebration of excellence, innovation, and camaraderie—a reflection of everything that makes GRS a standout organization. Here’s to all the winners and everyone who made 2024 a year to remember!

Bring on 2025!
